Piaskówka Park in Tarnów, Urban park with pond in Tarnów, Poland
Piaskówka Park is an urban park featuring a central pond with a fountain, connected by walking and cycling paths throughout the grounds. The landscape includes various tree species such as birches, alders, willows, and poplars, with open spaces for visitors to enjoy.
The site developed between 1977 and 1979 from the grounds of a former sand quarry, where natural water surfaces formed from the excavation. After its designation as a municipal park in 2003, extensive renovation work transformed it into its current form.
The space serves as a gathering place for families and those seeking outdoor recreation in the heart of the city. Visitors use it for leisurely walks, waterside relaxation, and various recreational activities.
The park offers access through parking areas on the south side, with bus routes 3, 11, 44, and 48 serving the location. The level pathways accommodate various mobility needs, and the grounds remain open throughout daylight hours.
The children's area features an unusual suspended rail slide and a maze of narrow asphalt paths specifically designed for cycling. These structures make it an uncommon example of specialized play areas in the region.
