The cemetery extends across a substantial area with organized sections, featuring dedicated areas for military burials and a central chapel for services.

Established in 1928, the cemetery conducted its first burial on November 5th of that year, followed by 76 additional interments during its inaugural period.

The cemetery includes sections dedicated to notable Tarnów citizens, including artists, social activists, and religious figures who shaped the city's development.

The cemetery administration office operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 15:30, providing burial services and maintaining detailed records of all interments.

The cemetery contains three military quarters housing 301 Russian and Soviet soldiers who died between 1914-15 and 1942-1945 during both World Wars.
