The monastery, founded on January 17, 1401, was built by protovestiarios Bogdan, his wife Milica, and his brother Petar under Stefan Lazarević's rule.
The monastery contains medieval frescoes depicting biblical scenes, including the life of Christ and the Virgin Mary cycle in the narthex.
Visitors can reach the monastery complex through marked roads near Rekovac, with guided tours available through the resident nuns of the community.
The monastery houses a relief portraying the Virgin Mary with infant Christ and two angels above the entrance portal.
