Belimarković Castle, Heritage castle in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia.
Belimarković Castle is a white marble building on a slope above the thermal springs, featuring Italian architectural elements. The structure now houses a museum with archaeological finds, historical exhibitions, and an art collection.
A general commissioned the castle in 1888; an engineer completed the work in 1889. This building came about during an era when thermal resorts were gaining importance across Europe.
The castle houses collections that reflect life and history in the region, including prehistoric finds and ethnographic objects. Visitors can see how these items illustrate daily life and traditions of people who lived here.
Access is via the slope; visitors should expect uneven paths. The museum inside has multiple rooms on different levels, so good footwear is recommended.
The marble for the facade came from a quarry owned by the general on nearby Goč Mountain. This choice made the building notably white and bright compared to surrounding structures.
