Podrinje

Podrinje is a river valley along the Drina River in Eastern Europe that extends through hilly and flat terrain. Multiple towns sit on the banks, from larger settlements to smaller villages, connected by roads that follow the water course.

The valley has a long history with Slavic settlements established centuries ago. In the 20th century, armed conflicts dramatically reshaped the region, particularly during the 1940s.
