Pastila Museum, Kolomna, Traditional fruit confectionery museum in Kolomna, Russia
The museum occupies a restored merchant estate wing, displaying exhibits about fruit preservation techniques and traditional pastila production methods from Moscow Oblast.
Founded in 2009, this institution revived century-old recipes of pastila making that were lost after the 1917 revolution until extensive archive research recovered them.
The museum presents theatrical performances where actors in period costumes demonstrate pastila preparation while sharing stories about 19th-century Russian merchant life.
Located 100 kilometers from Moscow, the museum offers guided tours in multiple languages and sells traditionally packaged pastila confections as souvenirs.
Visitors experience the complete process of pastila creation, from apple selection to final production, using methods dating back to 1735.
