Музей трёх актёров, Theater history museum in Moscow, Russia
The Museum of Three Actors (Muzey tryokh aktyorov) is a private museum in Moscow dedicated to the performers Yuri Nikulin, Georgy Vitsin, and Evgeny Morgunov. It is set inside a private apartment and holds a large collection of photographs, personal belongings, and memorabilia linked to the three artists.
The collection began in 1979 when the founder bought a single black-and-white postcard of the three performers at a market. Over time, the actors themselves gave him objects and photographs, which allowed the collection to grow steadily into what it is today.
The three performers are best known for playing a comic trio in the 1967 Soviet film "Caucasian Captive", and many visitors come precisely because of that shared memory. Their faces are still recognized across Russia, and the objects on display show how deeply they were part of everyday popular culture.
The museum is located inside a private apartment, so it does not keep regular opening hours like a standard museum. It is best to call ahead to arrange a visit, since access depends entirely on staff availability.
The founder can recount a personal story behind nearly every object in the collection, having received many items directly from the actors during his youth. A visit here feels less like a tour of a museum and more like a conversation with someone who actually knew these performers.
