Медведковский лесопарк

Medvedkovsky Forest Park is a 21 hectare natural area in Moscow featuring mixed trees like birches and aspens, plus around 200 plant species. The terrain slopes gently and contains maintained paths that make walking through it possible throughout the year.

The name comes from Prince Vasily Pozharsky, who carried the nickname Medved meaning Bear and owned these lands in the 16th century. This early connection shaped the place's identity and stuck with it over time.

The forest serves as a gathering place where neighbors exercise and train together using installed equipment scattered among the trees. This everyday recreational role shapes how the community interacts with this piece of nature in their neighborhood.

Visitors will find wide paths and gentle hills that work well for all ages and abilities. Different seasons bring different conditions, so wear appropriate footwear and check the weather before heading out.

The forest is home to rare animals listed in Moscow's Red Book, such as European moles, common shrews, and willow warblers. These protected species make it a special place for watching local wildlife within the city.
