Good wood plaza, Modern wooden office building in Zelenograd, Russia
Good Wood Plaza is a three-story wooden office building in Zelenograd standing about 20 meters tall. The structure relies on large timber support columns and extensive glass surfaces that allow natural light to fill the interior spaces.
This structure was built between 2014 and 2017, introducing a fresh approach to commercial construction in Russia by choosing wood as its primary material. The project broke away from the typical concrete and steel designs that dominated Soviet-era building traditions.
The building brings together wood construction traditions with contemporary office work, using open layouts that encourage people to move and interact across the space.
Natural light reaches all areas through roof openings that also handle ventilation and smoke removal. The building's layout means visitors and workers experience good air flow and bright conditions throughout the day.
The building stands on roughly 60 thick timber columns capable of carrying loads exceeding 80 tons each, leaving room for future modifications. This strong construction shows that wooden buildings at this scale can be just as durable and load-bearing as steel structures.
