Nижne-Gnilovskoe is an archaeological site featuring a hilltop with two peaks at the western edge of Rostov-on-Don. The terrain spans a large area and shows the layout of a significant ancient settlement.
The site was inhabited by Scythian peoples and others during the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE, as shown by graves and artifacts. Later communities also settled here and left their own marks on the landscape.
