Aeroport Vnukovo, Metro station in Vnukovo District, Russia
Aeroport Vnukovo is a metro station in the Vnukovo district of western Moscow, sitting at the western terminus of its line and connected directly to the airport terminal. An underground passage links the platform to the terminal, so passengers never need to go outside to reach their flight.
The station opened in 2023, completing more than a decade of planning that had explored several options for bringing metro access to Vnukovo. It was part of one of the final major extensions added to the Moscow Metro network in recent years.
The station takes its name from the airport it serves, and the two feel like a single place rather than two separate ones. Travelers moving between the city and their flights pass through here without stepping outside.
Signs inside the station guide travelers clearly toward the airport terminal, making it easy to find your way even without local knowledge. Those carrying large luggage should allow a bit more time to walk the underground connection at a comfortable pace.
This station marks the westernmost point of the entire Moscow Metro network, meaning every train from here travels toward the city center. Vnukovo is also the first airport in Russia to receive a direct metro connection.
