Изварино, Noble estate in Izvarino, Russia
The Izvarino Estate is a noble manor in Russia with a brick main house featuring a mezzanine level and a connecting wing topped by a bold pediment in early classical design. The complex spreads across the landscape with multiple buildings that together form a complete rural manor system.
The site passed into the hands of the Cherkassky princes during the 1700s, inherited from boyar Prince F.F. Kurakin and his holdings. The noble family shaped the estate's development across subsequent generations.
The complex reflects how Russian nobility designed their homes during the 1800s and continues to shape the village identity today. Walking through the grounds, you see how wealthy families organized their estates as centers of rural life.
The estate currently houses a children's home with administrative offices in one of the wings, which means access inside is restricted. You can still see the architecture and layout of the complex from the outside and appreciate how the buildings relate to one another.
A red brick church dedicated to the Prophet Elijah sits on the opposite bank of the river and was completed in the early 1900s. This separate religious building was a common feature that wealthy manor estates built during that period.
