Architects Pietro Gonzaga and Joseph Bové designed and constructed the theatre in 1818 as part of Prince Nikolai Yusupov's grand vision for the Arkhangelskoye Estate.
The theatre maintains original stage sets and curtains created by Pietro Gonzago, who also designed for the renowned La Scala in Milan.
Located 20 kilometers west of Moscow, the theatre functions as part of the Arkhangelskoye Estate Museum, offering guided tours and hosting regular cultural performances.
The theatre structure incorporates four preserved historical stage sets from the 19th century, representing an exceptional collection of period theatrical design.
