Церковь Рождества Пресвятой Богородицы

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an Orthodox church with a square footprint topped by five domes. The main building has a spacious interior, while a Sunday school, library, and pilgrimage center are connected to the complex.

Construction started in 1872 under Father Feodor Orlovsky and the bishop consecrated the completed building in 1890. This gave the church a solid foundation as a religious center in the city for generations to come.

The church takes its name from the birth of Mary and holds deep meaning for the Orthodox community who gather here to pray. The five domes rising from the structure represent spiritual values that visitors can see and understand when they walk around it.

The grounds around the church include a pond and play areas where visitors can spend time outdoors. The connected Sunday school and library offer ways to learn more about the spiritual community and its activities.

Between 1934 and 1935, Deacon Alexei Protopopov served here before becoming a hieromartyr. This chapter reminds visitors of the challenges the church faced during a difficult period in Russia's past.
