Хаскалинская боевая башня

The Haskalin Combat Tower stands on a rocky ridge overlooking a river valley and is a four-story structure built from roughly hewn stone blocks. The walls taper from bottom to top and feature arrow slits and openings designed for defensive purposes.

This structure was built between the 10th and 12th centuries as one of a network of watchtowers dotting the mountains. These towers relayed warning signals between mountain villages to alert communities to approaching threats.

These structures in the region reflect local building practices, with large hewn stone blocks tightly fitted together in distinctive patterns. You can still sense how such towers served to connect and protect mountain communities across the landscape.

The location is mountainous and reaching the tower requires good footwear and steady footing on uneven terrain. Visitors should be prepared for changing weather and allow time to safely explore the rocky surroundings.

Ancient engravings are carved into the southern wall, bearing marks left by early inhabitants of the region. The underground chamber has weathered countless conflicts and remains remarkably intact.
