Tebulosmta

Tebulosmta rises to 4,493 meters above sea level, standing as the highest peak in both the Eastern Caucasus and the Chechen Republic.

The mountain has appeared on geographical maps since 1877, marking its significance as a major geographical reference point in the Eastern Caucasus region.

The name originates from the highland Chechen village of Tebula, reflecting the deep connection between local communities and this natural landmark.

Climbers need specialized equipment and proper physical preparation to reach the summit, which features small glaciers covering approximately 3 square kilometers.

The mountain maintains a prominence of 2,145 meters, qualifying it as an ultra-prominent peak with Kazbegi as its nearest higher neighbor at 66.7 kilometers.
