Görväln, Fjard in Järfälla Municipality, Sweden.
Görväln is a fjard in the eastern part of Lake Mälaren that extends from Upplands-Bro and Kungsängen in the north down to Lovön in the south. Two water treatment plants use this body of water as their source to supply drinking water to municipalities in the region.
The area surrounding this fjard was settled during the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, as evidenced by burial sites and archaeological remains. These early communities developed along the water routes that shaped the landscape.
The Gåseborg ancient fortress near the fjard provides visitors with expansive views of both Görväln and Lövstafjärden water sections.
The best time to visit is during warmer months when the shoreline is most accessible for walking or exploring. Several viewpoints around the water offer different perspectives on the landscape and surrounding woodlands.
A nature reserve runs along the shoreline from Kalhäll to Hässelby, combining steep cliffs with farmland in an unusual way. This mix of natural rock formations and cultivated fields creates a landscape that many visitors overlook.
