Sjömagasinet Göteborg

Sjömagasinet is a restaurant housed in a red wooden warehouse building that stretches roughly 60 meters along the waterfront. The structure retains its traditional maritime architecture with large windows overlooking the harbor.

The building was constructed in 1775 as a storage facility for the East India Company and served as a maritime warehouse for many years. It was converted into a restaurant in 1984 while maintaining its original structure.

The name comes from its past as a storage facility, a history that remains visible in how the space is organized today. Diners can experience the original compartmented layout while enjoying contemporary Nordic cuisine in a working harbor setting.
