Villa Solbacken stands on the heights of Svensknabben, featuring high facades with Renaissance castle elements, anchor bolts, and animal-shaped water spouts.
In 1901, the original wooden villa was replaced by a stone mansion, which underwent major renovations by architect Carl Bergsten during 1915-1916.
The interior combines multiple design periods, from a Baroque dining room with coffered ceilings to a Gustavian mirror hall with light blue walls.
Since 2012, Villa Solbacken functions as a conference and event venue, offering spaces for professional and social gatherings in Kalmar Municipality.
The upper floor contains a cross-vaulted ceiling decorated with a hand-painted illustration of Midgårdsormen, reflecting Nordic mythological elements.
