Åbybadet

Åbybadet is a modern swimming facility in Mölndal with multiple pools including a 50-meter competition pool, a 25-meter training pool, and specialized diving areas. The complex also provides saunas, hot tubs, and dedicated spaces for water gymnastics and recreation.

The facility was designed and constructed between 2019 and 2023 by Liljewall Architects, replacing the previous building at the same location. This new construction brought contemporary design and expanded capabilities to the established swimming site.

The children's section uses nature themes and starry night skies to create an imaginative space where young swimmers feel more at ease in the water. This thoughtful design turns learning to swim into a playful experience rather than just an activity.
