Villa Papyrus, Historical estate in Mölndal, Sweden
Villa Papyrus encompasses a 1700-square-meter building within a 40,000-square-meter park, featuring grand terraces with decorated columns and balustrades.
The villa was built in 1870 for industrialist David Otto Francke, who turned Korndals paper mill into Sweden's largest manufacturing facility.
Photographer Caroline Gaudard documented the villa's interior in 1895, providing a detailed record of upper-class residential architecture in the Gothenburg region.
MölnDala Fastighets AB acquired the property in 2022, following previous ownership by Forever Living Products who used it as office space since 2006.
The columns of Villa Korndal underwent color analysis revealing multiple paint layers, including an original warm beige-yellow tone from the 1870s.
