Disponentvillan, Malmberget, Historic residence in Malmberget, Sweden.
Disponentvillan was a residential building in Malmberget with castle-like architectural features, positioned at the highest point of the settlement on a hill. The structure stood out for its distinctive style and prominent elevation that made it a recognizable landmark in the mining community.
The building was constructed in 1894 for mining engineer Axel Dellwik and served as a residence for mining company executives until the 1980s. It remained connected to the industrial development of Malmberget and the social organization of the mining era.
The building represented the social structure of the mining industry, where company managers resided in distinguished residences separate from workers' housing.
The original location is no longer accessible as the building was demolished in 2019. A new structure is planned elsewhere to preserve the site's history while allowing for contemporary use.
Original materials from the demolished structure will be incorporated into the new building to maintain a link with its past. This reuse of elements creates a bridge between mining heritage and future use of the site.
