Gömmarbadet

Gömmarbadet is a public beach on the southeastern shore of Lake Gömmaren featuring sandy areas and rocky sections that rise toward the north. The site includes several spots where people can easily enter the water and is part of a larger nature reserve.

The beach grew from a simple local swimming spot into a developed municipal facility with amenities and infrastructure. It is now integrated into the recreation and nature conservation system of Huddinge Municipality.

Swedish residents gather at Gömmarbadet during summer months to participate in traditional outdoor swimming activities and community gatherings near the water.

The site has portable toilets, waste bins, and barbecue areas to make visits comfortable, with a parking lot and bicycle stands near the entrance. Floating platforms provide additional ways to access the water for different preferences and abilities.

The location has two separate zones designated for dog swimming, making it a popular destination for dog owners. Strong cold currents in the deeper center of the lake demand respect from swimmers, particularly those unfamiliar with these conditions.
