Marsiling Park, Community garden in Woodlands, Singapore
Marsiling Park is an 11-hectare green space with a central pond framed by Chinese pavilions featuring green roofs, red pillars, and a traditional stone bridge. The western section contains a restored mangrove ecosystem with boardwalks supporting numerous young plants and wildlife.
The space was founded in 1983 as Woodlands Town Garden and underwent major renovation before reopening as Marsiling Park in 2018. The redesign preserved the original Chinese architecture while adding new play areas and ecological features.
The site includes four distinct play zones where children explore instruments, climb on structures, and move through different landscapes. These areas show how the space brings families and neighbors together for shared experiences.
The site is open 24 hours daily and sits near Marsiling MRT station for easy access without a car. Free parking is available during specified hours, and the grounds feature wide pathways suited to different mobility levels.
The grounds remain open 24 hours year-round, making it one of few places where you can visit a Chinese garden at night. The nighttime environment reveals the structures and water features in an entirely different way than daylight hours.
