Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, Colonial villa in Balestier, Singapore
The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall features ornate arched windows, floral-patterned eaves, and movable louvred windows spread across two floors.
The villa served as a base for the Tongmenghui organization in Southeast Asia, where leaders planned multiple uprisings against the Qing dynasty in 1911.
The museum contains five galleries displaying 400 artifacts that document the connection between Singapore, Sun Yat Sen, and the Chinese Revolution.
Located at 12 Tai Gin Road, the memorial hall will undergo restoration work from September 2024 until 2027, offering offsite programs during closure.
A 60-meter bronze wall mural depicts Singapore's transformation between 1840 and 1940 through artwork created by Chinese artists.
