Jalan Besar Stadium, Football stadium in Kallang, Singapore
The Jalan Besar Stadium features a modern artificial turf field and accommodates 8,000 spectators with covered seating areas throughout the venue.
The stadium opened its doors on December 26, 1929, with a football match between Malayan Chinese and Malayan Asiatics teams ending in a 3-2 score.
During the Japanese occupation of Singapore from 1942 to 1945, the stadium functioned as a language center where locals learned Japanese.
Located at 100 Tyrwhitt Road, the stadium connects to multiple bus routes and stands within walking distance from Lavender and Bendemeer MRT stations.
The stadium received a GreenFields Evolution Pro 40 Pitch in 2021, making it one of the first venues in Southeast Asia with this professional-grade surface.
