Khun Chae National Park

Khun Chae National Park is a protected natural area in Chiang Rai with mountains, forests, and valleys connected by multiple hiking trails. The landscape includes waterfalls and observation points that give visitors different views of the park's terrain.

The park received official protection status in 1995 and became part of Thailand's national park system. This designation aimed to safeguard the region's natural habitats and water sources for future generations.

Local rangers and community members maintain traditional conservation practices while guiding visitors through the park's natural heritage sites.

Visit during cooler months when trails are dry and easier to walk. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water since hikes pass through varied elevations and can take several hours.

A massive ficus tree near park headquarters has enormous roots and a sprawling canopy that shades a vast area below it. This ancient tree has become a distinctive landmark that many visitors come to see.
