Fisher Lane Farm

Fisher Lane Farm is a recording studio housed in a converted 16th-century Grade II listed farmhouse set within an 80-acre estate. The facility comprises the main studio built in a former cowshed and additional recording spaces in the original house.

The property was purchased in 1980 and underwent a four-month conversion into a working recording facility. It operated as a major production center for four decades before closing in 2022.

The studio holds deep significance in progressive rock history as a place where major artistic visions were realized. Visitors can sense the creative atmosphere that drew musicians to this rural setting for extended recording sessions.

The studio sits on a large country estate with parking available near the entrance. The two separate recording areas are spread across the grounds, so allow time to view both spaces if visiting.

The main recording space was created inside a former cowshed through specialized conversion and equipment installation. This unusual transformation of a farm outbuilding into a professional studio demonstrates creative problem-solving in a rural setting.
