Glenfiddich Distillery, Whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland
Glenfiddich is a working distillery in the valley near Dufftown in Moray. Water from the Robbie Dhu Spring flows through the entire site and is used at every stage of production.
William Grant founded the site in 1886 and built it by hand with his sons. The first spirit flowed from the copper stills on Christmas Day 1887.
The name comes from Scottish Gaelic meaning Valley of the Deer, which explains why a stag serves as the emblem on every bottle. The site maintains this connection to the landscape through its design and presentation throughout the tour experience.
Tours operate daily from 9:30 AM to 2:45 PM, including visits to original warehouses and tastings of different aged single malt whiskies.
The site converts production waste into biogas that powers its delivery fleet. This approach shows an unusual way to reuse byproducts in the whisky trade.
