Peterborough Cathedral, Anglican cathedral in Peterborough, England

The cathedral features three enormous arches on its West Front and stands 44 meters tall with a wooden ceiling spanning 147 meters in length.

Built between 1118 and 1238, the cathedral replaced a monastery destroyed by Vikings in 870 and contains the Hedda Stone, documenting the Viking attack.

The cathedral holds regular Anglican services, musical events, and exhibitions while maintaining its role as the seat of the Bishop of Peterborough.

Visitors can join guided tours of the cathedral, including access to upper levels, with advance booking recommended during autumn graduation ceremonies.

The cathedral houses the burial place of Catherine of Aragon and formerly contained the remains of Mary Queen of Scots until their transfer to Westminster Abbey.
