Hadleigh Farm

Hadleigh Farm is a country park in Essex that spans meadows, woodlands, marshes, and ponds across its grounds. A network of marked pathways connects these different landscapes, allowing visitors to move through varied terrain.

The land has been used since the 13th century, when Hadleigh Castle stood as a strategic stronghold overlooking the Thames. This site remained significant throughout the medieval period and beyond.

The reconstructed Iron Age roundhouse demonstrates how people lived in ancient times with its authentic design and materials. Visitors can step inside to learn about the daily routines and dwellings of prehistoric Britain.

Three marked walking trails begin at Chapel Lane car park and lead to viewpoints with different vistas. From these spots, you can see across the Thames Estuary and sometimes even toward London.

The cycling trails were built for the 2012 Olympics and remain open to mountain bikers today. These routes feature technical sections across natural terrain that provide real challenges.
