Levant Mine and Beam Engine, Mining museum on the Tin Coast, Cornwall, England.
The National Trust operates this coastal mining complex with a restored 1840s beam engine situated within its original engine house at the cliff edge.
From 1820 to 1930, miners extracted copper and tin at depths of 600 meters, with tunnels extending 2.5 kilometers beneath the Atlantic Ocean.
The site stands as a testament to Cornwall's industrial heritage, preserving the engineering knowledge and mining techniques developed during the nineteenth century.
Access to the mine requires advance booking for guided tours lasting ninety minutes, with parking facilities available at nearby Geevor Mine.
The steam-powered Cornish beam engine remains the only one worldwide that continues functioning in its initial location from the 1840s.
