Loch Lomond Golf Club, Private golf course at Luss, Scotland
Loch Lomond Golf Club is an 18-hole course laid out across parkland with natural streams, marshes, and rolling terrain, stretching about 7,165 yards and playing to par 71. The clubhouse is Rossdhu House, a Georgian manor built in 1773 that anchors the entire setting.
The original Rossdhu Castle stood on this land from medieval times, and Rossdhu House replaced it in 1773 as a Georgian manor. The golf course was later developed on these established grounds, blending modern sport with an old estate.
The course sits on ancestral lands tied to Clan Colquhoun, and the setting reflects the family's long connection to this part of Scotland. Walking the grounds, you sense how golf and heritage have become woven together in this place.
The grounds feature practice areas including a driving range, chipping area, and putting green, plus equipment rental for visitors. It sits about 25 minutes from Glasgow, making it accessible for day trips from the city.
The final hole frames a view of Rossdhu Castle ruins, the site where Mary Queen of Scots once stayed during her travels. This vantage point makes the Scottish royal connection visible right from the fairway.
