Tater Du Lighthouse, Automated lighthouse on Cornwall coast, England.

Built from concrete blocks, this cylindrical lighthouse rises 15 meters above dark greenstone cliffs near Lamorna Cove, providing guidance to maritime vessels.

Construction of the lighthouse began in 1964 following public pressure after the Spanish vessel Juan Ferrer sank in 1963, causing eleven deaths.

The name originates from Cornish language 'torthel du', translating to black loaf, referring to the dark rock formations where the structure stands.

The lighthouse emits three white flashes every fifteen seconds and includes a separate red fixed light warning ships about the dangerous Runnelstone Rock.

This 1965 structure marked two technological advances as the first British lighthouse designed for automatic operation and first built with precast concrete blocks.
