Legoland Windsor, Theme park in Windsor, England
Legoland Windsor is a theme park in Windsor, England, and consists of several areas with rides, shows, and interactive installations made from millions of building blocks. The grounds are divided into different themed worlds, each offering its own attractions and play areas for children of different age groups.
The park opened in 1996 on the former site of Windsor Safari Park and was the first location of this kind in the United Kingdom. Since then, new themed areas and attractions have been added regularly to expand the offering.
Children move between different zones and often choose themed areas based on their favorite films or characters while taking part in building small projects themselves. The workshops invite experimentation and show in a playful way how pieces fit together and simple mechanisms work.
Tickets can be booked in advance online, which is often cheaper than buying at the entrance, and parking spaces are located right next to the grounds. Those who arrive early have more time for the popular rides and can spread out waiting times better.
The Miniland section shows recreated landmarks from several European countries, including Tower Bridge in London and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, all made from over 40 million bricks. The models are so detailed that you can even discover small scenes with miniature figures inside them.
