The Tower, Meridian Quay, Residential tower in Maritime Quarter, Swansea, United Kingdom
The Tower, Meridian Quay is a residential tower on the waterfront of Swansea's Maritime Quarter in Wales, rising 29 floors above the bay. The ground floor contains retail units and a restaurant that open directly onto the promenade along the water.
The project was approved in 2003 and construction began in 2006 as part of a broader Maritime Quarter regeneration. When completed, it was the tallest residential building in Wales.
The name reflects the meridian line and waterfront location, rooting the building to Swansea's maritime identity. The public spaces and retail areas create a gathering point that shapes how visitors move through the quarter.
The building sits at the edge of the Maritime Quarter and is easy to reach on foot from the city center. Only the ground floor and the restaurant are open to the public, as the upper floors are private residences.
The restaurant near the top of the building looks out over Swansea Bay and on clear days reaches as far as the Somerset coast across the Bristol Channel. It is one of the few spots in Swansea where you can see that far into the channel from a seated position indoors.
