English Stones

English Stones is a natural rocky outcrop located in the Severn Estuary between Caldicot, Monmouthshire, and Severn Beach, South Gloucestershire. The formation rises from the seabed within the tidal zone and is exposed or submerged depending on water levels.

During construction of the Second Severn Crossing in the 1990s, the rocks served as a foundation point for several bridge sections. The natural outcrop was incorporated into this major engineering project.

The English Stones represent a testament to British engineering capabilities, integrating natural geological features with modern infrastructure development.
