This four-story structure with mezzanine and attic features seven bays along Castle Street and six toward Derby Square. The stone facade is defined by Corinthian columns, ornamental spandrels, and decorative balustrades that run across the building.
The North and South Wales Bank commissioned this structure in 1868, with architects Lucy and Littler designing its distinctive stone facade. It gained Grade II listing status in 1975, placing it under historical protection.
The building displays Victorian ornamentation with characteristic columns and carved stone details that shape its street presence. These elements reflect the craftsmanship tradition of the period when it was first built.
The hotel is centrally located in Liverpool City Centre and easy to reach on foot. It offers 20 suites with a restaurant housed in the former banking hall on the ground floor.
The entrance bay displays intricately carved stone pilasters with fine relief swags and a balustraded balcony above. The second floor features carved figures within window spandrels, showcasing skilled stonework that distinguishes the design.
