Alpha Tower stands 100 meters tall with 28 floors, featuring a modern geometric facade of steel and glass that creates a distinctive angular silhouette against Birmingham's skyline.

History

Constructed between 1969 and 1973 by architect George Marsh of Richard Seifert & Partners, the tower originally served as headquarters for television company ATV until 1982.

Culture

The building appeared in the 1973 film 'Take Me High' starring Cliff Richard, cementing its place in Birmingham's cinematic history and popular culture of the era.

Practical

Located on Suffolk Street Queensway at coordinates 52.4786°N and -1.90639°W, the tower underwent a £16.6 million refurbishment in 2023 to modernize its office facilities.
