Archway Tower, Brutalist high-rise building in Archway district, London, England.
Archway Tower is an 18-story residential building standing approximately 60 meters tall in the Archway district of North London. The structure combines a concrete frame with large glass panels arranged in a regular grid, while the exterior is covered with modern cladding panels for improved performance.
The building was constructed in 1963 as an office complex on this North London site. It underwent complete renovation in 2016 to convert it into apartments, modernizing all interior systems and technical infrastructure.
The tower represents a post-war approach to solving housing needs through vertical construction in concrete. Its bold geometric design and large window grid reflect the architectural thinking of that era and remain visible hallmarks of the neighborhood.
The building is located in a busy urban area with good access to public transport. Note that this is a private residential building, so public access is limited to common areas or exterior viewing.
The building underwent a remarkable conversion from office-only use to residential apartments, requiring significant internal adaptation. This transformation allowed the structure to remain active while helping address housing demand in the neighborhood.
