Addington Park, Public park in Addington, United Kingdom.
Addington Park is a 24.5-acre (9.9 hectare) green space with walking paths, open grass areas, tennis courts, and a children's playground. The grounds provide ample room to explore and offer various recreational activities for different ages.
The grounds were landscaped by Capability Brown in 1781, making it the work of a renowned landscape designer. Croydon Council acquired most of the current park area from Addington Palace Estate in 1930.
The park serves the surrounding community as a gathering space for celebrations and events throughout the year. People use the green spaces to spend time together outdoors and enjoy the grounds.
You can reach the park by tram on Route 3 via Gravel Hill or Addington Village stops, or park your car at the Kent Gate Way entrance. The grounds are flat and easy to walk around.
The park sits beside Addington Hill and preserves elements of the original 18th-century design. These design features remain visible today despite modern use, giving the place its distinctive character.
