Alvanley Hall, English country house in Alvanley, England

Alvanley Hall is an L-shaped country residence with two storeys and an attic, built from sandstone and brick with tall mullioned windows and a grey slate roof. The building combines materials and proportions typical of English manor houses developed over several construction periods.

The building originates from the 17th century and was expanded over time. The cellar contains two large medieval piers that suggest much older structures once existed at this location.

The house reflects how well-off families modified and expanded their homes across generations. You can see this in the mixture of building materials and the traditional timber partitions inside.

The property sits on Manley Road, some distance southeast of Alvanley village. Its Grade II* status means the building is protected and managed according to strict preservation rules, limiting public access.

The cellar holds two substantial piers with distinctive polygonal bases that reveal early building methods. This unusual construction is rarely seen and shows how ancient this site truly is.
