Cavern Mecca, Music museum in Mathew Street, Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The Cavern Mecca occupied a corner location at Rainford Square and Mathew Street, displaying an extensive collection of musical artifacts and memorabilia.
Liz and Jim Hughes established the Cavern Mecca in January 1981, initiating the first organized Beatles tourism venture in Liverpool during a period of diminished interest.
The museum started the annual Beatles Convention, which later evolved into a component of the larger Beatles Week festival celebrated in Liverpool.
Visitors accessed exhibits showcasing original items, photographs, and documents that chronicled the development of Liverpool's music scene in the 1960s.
The museum's closure in December 1984 coincided with the restoration project of the original Cavern Club, which later reopened as a combined venue and exhibition space.
