Christ Church presents lancet windows throughout its structure, with a nave containing single and triple stepped designs in its four-bay configuration.
Edmund Sharpe designed the original church in 1839, while Henry Paley added the chancel and vestry modifications during 1931-1932.
The church holds stained glass works from different periods, including pieces by Carl Almquist and E. H. Jewitt from the 19th century.
The church maintains regular Anglican services as part of the Diocese of Blackburn and shares its benefice with St Michael and St Luke churches.
The churchyard contains memorial graves of three soldiers, two from World War I and one from World War II.
