Christ Church Meadow, Public park next to Christ Church College, Oxford, England
Christ Church Meadow comprises a triangular green space bordered by the River Thames, River Cherwell, and Christ Church College buildings.
In 1784, James Sadler launched the first English hot air balloon flight from Christ Church Meadow, reaching 3,600 feet before landing near Wood Eaton.
The meadow hosts major Oxford University rowing events throughout the year, including Eights Week, Torpids, and the Christ Church Regatta.
Gates around the meadow open during daylight hours every day except December 25, with access points from St Aldate's, Merton Street, and High Street.
The lower sections of the meadow maintain a herd of Old English Longhorn cattle that graze the fields without chemical fertilizers.
