The Church of St. Mary the Virgin features a 175-foot spire, a cruciform layout, and intricate stained glass windows created by Charles Eamer Kempe.
The present church, completed in 1889 at substantial cost, replaced two previous structures and was commissioned by Henry Pelham-Clinton, 7th Duke of Newcastle.
The interior combines a plain nave with a decorated chancel, demonstrating the Victorian ecclesiastical design principles of the late 19th century.
The church holds regular Sunday services at 11:30 AM, with additional summer Evensong services at 3:00 PM in selected months.
The Gray and Davison organ from 1889 contains 2,180 pipes across three manuals and remains largely in its original configuration.
