Church of St John the Evangelist, Edinburgh, Episcopal church on Princes Street in Edinburgh, Scotland
The stone church features a notable plaster ceiling vault modeled after the Henry VII Chapel of Westminster Abbey and contains stained glass windows by Ballantine.
Construction of the church began in 1816 under architect William Burn, and the building was officially dedicated on Maundy Thursday of 1818.
The church participates in the Just Festival during August, hosting various events alongside the Edinburgh Festival Fringe celebrations.
Regular services include Holy Communion at 8:00 AM, Sung Eucharist at 10:30 AM, and Evening Prayer at 6:00 PM, with additional Tuesday and Wednesday gatherings.
In 2017, this church made history by conducting the first same-sex marriage ceremony in an Anglican church within the British Isles.
