Church of St Lawrence, Rode

The stone building exhibits late medieval architecture with a prominent tower, carved gargoyles, stone heads on windows, and ornate decorations throughout its structure.

Construction of the Church of St Lawrence began in the late 14th century, with fragments of a Norman doorway indicating an earlier religious structure at this location.

The church maintains the tradition of Clipping, where participants form a ring around the building while dancing and singing on Easter Monday or Shrove Tuesday.

The church contains six bells in its tower, restored between 2003 and 2006 with a new steel frame replacing the original wooden structure.
