Cogshall Hall

Cogshall Hall is a two-story brick mansion with a columned entrance and five sections across its front elevation. The house sits on a large estate that includes a separate lodge building with its own distinct architectural character.

The house was built in 1830 as a residence for a landowner. A kitchen wing was added in the early twentieth century to extend its practical layout.

The interior displays Georgian details like stone columns and carved marble fireplaces that reflect the craftsmanship of the period. Ornate ceiling work and wall decorations show how owners expressed their taste through architectural embellishment.

The estate provides modern facilities including a gym, billiards room, wine cellar, and swimming pool for visitors. There are also specialized washing areas for dogs, a useful feature if you are traveling with pets.

A notable feature is an overmantel in a main room supported by marble figures of dancing maidens. The adjacent lodge displays a portico style that represents a different architectural vocabulary from the same era.
