Delnadamph Lodge, Victorian hunting lodge in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Delnadamph Lodge was a Victorian hunting house with ten bedrooms across two floors situated in the Scottish Highlands. The building stood at significant elevation near the River Don and served as a substantial residence for guests.
The house was built in 1860 and reached prominence when purchased by the British royal family in 1978. The original structure was eventually demolished after being assessed as structurally unsafe.
The property reflects Scotland's heritage of sporting estates where hunting and rural living remained central to the region's identity. This role shaped how people used the land and spent their leisure time in the Highlands.
The original building no longer stands, having been demolished in 1988, but office buildings now occupy the site. Visitors can explore the surrounding countryside to understand the landscape and heritage of the location.
The estate sprawled across thousands of acres and once ranked among Scotland's highest-elevation shooting residences. Its position near the source of the River Don made it a favored destination for wealthy sporting enthusiasts.
